Military scholarships are scholarship programs for children of military families and dependents along with scholarships designed to support and encourage students who wish to serve the country. No longer does choosing to enter military service require that one sacrifice his or her college dreams. Military scholarships and grants help to achieve such aspirations.
The different entities of the United States military, namely the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, each have and require different rules and criteria regarding educational expenses. While this adds to the confusion, the good part is that each branch of section of the military have their own scholarship programs and financial aid packages for students seeking monetary assistance to pay for their education. Most of these scholarships however are based on merit and competitiveness, and less on actual need.
